Branson, Berbers and Bearded Vultures: A Trek in the Atlas
From Richard Branson's mountainside retreat to giant bearded vultures and ramshackle Berber villages, you can experience so much on a trek in Morocco's Atlas Mountains.
On a Morocco hiking holiday you'll be surprised to see so few people in the Atlas region. This is because this trekking hotspot is still relatively unknown, with few tour operators offering excursions to this enigmatic area. However, the Atlas still attracts its fair share of visitors, not all of which are trekkers. Bird ...Read the rest of this entry »
Get It Out Of Your Head And Into a Mind Map
B>Get It Out Of Your Head And Into a Mind Map
Do you ever feel like you have some great ideas, but when you
sit down to write them, they're not so great? Or even worse, you
can't really get a sense of what the ideas were?
In one of my graduate student coaching groups we have been
discussing the difficulty of translating partly formed ideas
into words on paper. One technique that makes use of a normally
underutilized part of our brain is called "Mind Mapping."
What is a Mind Map?

Effective Learners and a Learner-Centered Classroom (Part 1 of
Each learner and each learning experience is unique; yet
educators can identify patterns in the learning process.
Designing effective learning requirements requires a clear
understanding of, and attention to, both commonalities and
differences in the learners and the learning.
Since ancient times, the learning process has been a subject of
study for philosophers, educators, and scientists. This
curiosity continues to drive forward the methodologies used in a
classroom. One major change in ...Read the rest of this entry »

certainly give you an edge while on the road: You do not have to
carry as much cash - a definite security advantage - and you
WILL receive a record of all your transactions when your credit
card statement arrives.
If your credit cards are stolen and used by a thief, and you
report the loss promptly, you generally cannot be held
responsible for more than a specified dollar ...Read the rest of this entry »

70 baht (depending on how nice the restaurant is).
Hotels in Thailand are cheap. They have hotels to suit any
budget you have. If you're a backpacker and want to stay in
Bangkok, Kaosan road is your ideal destination. It's dirt cheap.

Your Guide for Travel and Hotels in Columbia
When you hear the word vacation, what do you see in your mind?
Vacations mean assorted things to assorted individuals. Some
like to sight see while many others would enjoy nothing more
than to spend the whole trip kicking back at the hotel pool. If
you happen to be like me, you enjoy some of both options. On the
one hand, because I have journeyed someplace different, I ought
to visit some interesting local fare. But then again, if I use
up all my time darting around from site to site, when I ...Read the rest of this entry »

Study Smart and not Hard: Part III
Try out FRT (Fast Revision Technique)
The mind has a tendency to constantly reject all that it
considers not important. By revising again and again a message
is sent to subconscious mind that it is important. In most cases
over 80% of our learned information is lost in just 48 hours! If
we don't revise our mind does not consider it to be important
and discards the information.

Cathars,Courtly Love, and History
This is an entry from my three volume encyclopedia.
CRUSADES, CATHARS AND 'COURTLY LOVE':
One of the greatest legacies of the revitalization of the
teachings of 'brotherhood' in the 13th century of the Troubadors
was sexual and gender respect. The Cathar 'dove' and Peace were
not destined to last, but the education of people could not be
squelched. It can be argued that the world was a better place
then: the Americas were still part of the 'Brotherhood' although
the Mediterranean warlike ...Read the rest of this entry »

Why Geography?
In this modern age, haven't all earth's locations been found,
named, and mapped? Just about.
So, why geography?
The citizens of many of the world's countries still don't
realize that ignorance of geography can affect their political
stability, economic success, and environmental health. Sure,
it's important to know where things are located. But even more
important is learning in what ways those places are affected by
their environments and their population. That, too, is geography.
Our survival ...Read the rest of this entry »

year with friends and family. These are the findings of a new
report by Lighthouse Spain, which caters for 'residential
tourists': people who have shifted from spending ...Read the rest of this entry »

Three steps you need to know to improve your learning and have
"I'm a failure" "I'll never make it." That's the kind of

1. You need to motivate yourself.
First of all, remember that great people learned a basic and
essential quality you need to acquire: persistence. Very
successful people failed many times, like most of us. But they

Travel Light
I learned how to travel light from lightweight backpacking,
then found it was just as useful to keep it light on trips
overseas or driving across the country. The last time my wife
and I went to Ecuador, I had 10 pounds of luggage, all in one
carry-on bag, and Ana had just 8 pounds in her carry-on bag.
This wasn't a short trip. We spent six weeks in Ecuador, at
times on glacier-covered mountains, and at other times lounging
on Pacific coast beaches.
